A Picture Perfect Garden - Home And Family Blog

So you?ve spent all this money on making your home a place to be proud of. You decide to throw a party to show off your investment and interior decorating skills; the guests arrive, take a (very impressed) look around the place but you notice a few unimpressed looks flying around as well? you have completely forgotten about the garden. The hard work and money you have put into your property? has been slightly dampened by the unkempt looking garden area? Nightmare, right?
Garden/Allotment
What cost-effective ways can you use to bring the garden up to the standard that you and your property expect?

After laying the groundwork by making sure the grass and shrubbery are in place, the first thing you can do is to add a bit of light to the situation. A neat lawn and edgings add a lot to a garden and adding a few lamps and lights to the environment will help illuminate the products of your ?green fingers?. The lights can be halogen, LED or even solar powered; they all serve the purpose to display the pastures of your home in (excuse the pun) the best possible light.

Ornamental features are another great way to add a bit of vibrancy to your garden. Ornaments come in all shapes, sizes and varieties and can reflect your personality. If you?re into the whole ?Feng Shui? thing, get a load of buddhas. If you?re a bit more conservative, some simple flowers or water features would suffice. If you like a bit of nature in your garden, opt for a birdbath. There are so many different options out there that it?d be impossible to list them all so hunt around, you might be surprised by what you might find.

So you have now created your picture perfect garden. In fact, if the Mona Lisa had been created from grass, dirt and birdbaths then it would pretty much resemble your garden. However, the Mona Lisa has a frame and so too should your garden. This is why you ought to address the fencing and complete the job beautifully.

It?s also wise to prioritise the rear of your home in terms of doors and windows so they look as good as the garden. The doors and windows can be made of whatever suits you the most; wood, aluminium, uPVC? you name it, it?s available. It would be a shame to invest even more time and money in your garden only for the view of the house to be a bad one.
